Senior Care Services
|
Senior Solutions of Pinellas County consultation service is based in central Florida. We provide services to individuals and businesses. Whether the client's needs are personal or business related, Senior Solutions is most interested in quality. |
Senior Solutions of Pinellas County's primary interest is in seeing that Seniors receive QUALITY care from service providers. Senior Solutions believes that a health care facility doesn't need to be extravagant in design, exquisitely furnished, or have a name that's recognized nationally to provide quality service.
Senior Solutions specializes in assessment of need for Seniors and provides information and referral in the areas of health care, financial preparedness, legal preparedness, future need planning, and other pertinent issues. We advocate for and on behalf of Seniors.
We encourage businesses to evaluate their performance as related to Senior customers. We provide consultation to assist businesses in the evaluation process, and offer suggestions which allow them to better serve Seniors needs, establish and maintain trust.
With 18 years of experience in geriatric health care, sales and marketing experience. Senior Solutions strives to promote those health facilities, and companies which do business in a socially conscientious, and responsible manner. Senior Solutions looks beyond the obvious to determine if residents or Senior clients/customers are treated with dignity and respect. Personal inspection, interview and assessment, and evaluation of current State survey reports is performed prior to any facility referral. Any professional or business which is referred, is equally evaluated to meet Senior Solutions standards.
Jane D. Ogilvie started her business after recognizing the difficulty seniors and their responsible parties had when faced with various age related problems. Her nursing background repeatedly exposed her to many who were faced with similar problems. She frequently witnessed near crisis situations which would begin with an unanticipated change in health status. Families would find themselves not only dealing with the health care concern itself, but legal and financial preparedness issues.
Jane noted that families experienced an extraordinary amount of stress. Loved ones were both stressed and frustrated as a result of not knowing how to resolve all of the issues they were facing. The hospitals would discharge to a nursing home for rehab., and then what? Loved ones knew nothing about where they were discharged to, how long they would be there, who would pay for it, what would happen if they couldn't afford it, where would they go if they couldn't go home, what is an ALF?
Lacking information and guidance from professionals, their situation would force them into taking advice from well meaning but oftentimes inadequately informed people. Having long ago changed out of her nursing shoes and put on those of her patients and their loved ones, it was decided someone needed to be available to call at times like these. The concept for Senior Solutions of Pinellas County was born.
Realizing that care facilities were a major player in senior issues, Jane set out to create a data base of all Assisted Living Facilities in Pinellas County. The next step was to pull state survey reports on the facilities to see how their inspections went. Finally, she approached many of the facilities to physically tour them, and to speak personally with those who owned and or managed them. By doing so, she was able to establish a countywide list of facilities she would have care for her own parents if Assisted Living was their best option. Having done the facility research, Jane believed she had just saved care givers not only a lot of time, but a lot of unnecessary stress.
Finding the best facilities to meet their needs though was just the beginning. Through networking at an Area Agency on Aging Better Living for Seniors Consortium meeting, Jane was fortunate to have met a financial planning company whose mission also was to protect seniors. Through them, she met Attorney John Staunton whose work was crucial in the development of the First Florida Pooled Trust - a trust fund for seniors and disabled adults.
We have interviewed attorneys, real estate agents, moving companies, home health care companies, specialized adaptive clothing providers, health care supply providers, nursing homes, funeral planners, long term care insurance providers, and physicians providing old-fashioned "house call" services. In the process we have created a network of service providers that meet the standard of care that we would want for our own parents.
These personal services are available to the individual, to care givers, and loved ones. We accept cases referred by attorneys, fiduciaries, clergy members, and all others who are concerned about the needs of seniors.
Jane is a member of the Area Agency on Aging Pinellas/Pasco Better Living for Seniors Consortium, The Guardian Association of Pinellas County, the National Older Women's League, and was a member of The Fl. Dept. of Elder Affairs Committee for Affordable Assisted Living. She is the current Vice President of the Gulfport Chamber of Commerce.
