"Shape shifting" molecules? The "Big Bang" of Alzheimer's? Scientific research not science fiction! Watch this video and learn more about what happens when healthy tau molecules transform themselves.

It may still seem that the cure for Alzheimer's Disease and other dementia is light years away. For people with deteriorating brain diseases, their loved ones who care for them, and the medical community that follows them, answers can't come soon enough.

Due to advancements in scientific technology and research, we now know exactly what happens when a healthy tau molecule "shape shifts" and leads to the creation of neurofibrillary tangles. "Shape shifting" may make you think of a science fiction show like the X-Men movies or Terminator 2: Judgement Day. Unfortunately, what's happening in the brain isn't science fiction.

When healthy tau protein molecules shape shift and become unhealthy ones, it's far from entertaining. When currently incurable brain disease like Alzheimer's is the result, the more we know, the better our chances are for finding a way to prevent it.

The following video clearly describes this discovery. With further research scientists may be able to find exactly what initiates this molecular transformation. Then, we may be able to find an effective means of preventing it from happening, and/or an effective means to stop it once detected.
